Flu Vaccinations for 2020
The surgery is in the process of holding flu clinics and those eligible will receive invites to vaccination clinics. As per government guidance, we are prioritising patients in the usual risk groups and those who were advised to shield because of Coronavirus.
There are on-going issues with the supply of vaccines around the country. The surgery team are actively reviewing and managing clinics so we can ensure we have enough vaccines for those invited. If you are in a risk group, you will receive an invite to a clinic. Please do your best to attend as it is important to receive your vaccination.
More information about flu vaccine supplies can be found on the Government website
Vaccinations for 50-64 year olds not in a risk group
As you may be aware, the government have advised that 50-64 year olds not in a recognised clinical 'at risk' group will be able to have a free flu vaccination this year. More information is available via this link
If you fall into this category, please do not ring the surgery to try and book an appointment to have the vaccination. You will be offered a flu vaccination providing there is sufficient vaccine. No appointments will be offered for people in this age group until we have guidance from the Government that we can go ahead. This is to ensure that those who are most at risk are vaccinated first.
If you are aged 50 to 64 and are in a clinical ‘at risk’ group which is eligible for the flu vaccination, for example you have a health condition which puts you at risk from the flu, you will be invited earlier.
Thank you, as always, for your patience and understanding.
