The list below shows the many and varied clinics available at Westcourt Medical Centre. These clinics run at various times and are subject to change so we would ask you to contact reception in the first instance to find out availability and check times - please ring 01903 777000 for more information.

Our Clinics and Services

Asthma / COPD Clinic

Our specially trained nurses will ensure that treatment is effective by regularly checking inhaler technique and measuring lung function, referring you to a doctor/nurse practitioner.

Reminder: Would all patients attending for Asthma appointments please remember to always bring along their inhalers.

Blood Tests

Blood test clinics are held in the mornings Monday to Friday. If you have been directed by your doctor to have a blood test, please make an appointment with reception. Please remember to bring the relevant form with you.

Blood tests are also available at Worthing and St Richard's hospitals if your need is urgent.

Cervical Smears

The nurses are trained to do cervical smears. All women aged between 25 and 64 years of age are automatically invited for a smear through the screening programme run by the Health Authority.

Contraception & Sexual Health

The practice nurses are specifically trained to offer advice on contraception and sexual health.

Diabetes Clinic

Run by specially trained nurses who offer an annual health check as well as dietary and general advice. If  problems arise, patients will be referred back to the nurse practitioner or diabetic specialist nurse as appropriate.

Health Check Clinic

This is a health promotion clinic run by the nurses. Your height, weight and blood pressure will be checked and any associated health problems identified and addressed.

Hypertension & Heart Disease

This clinic provides a service for patients who currently have heart disease. It is run by specially trained nurses and assessed by invitation only. The aim is to identify issues that could cause further problems and to give advice on protecting the health of your heart.

Menopause / HRT Clinic

The practice nurses can complete a review for women taking HRT. Advice can be given regarding Hormone related issues and problems identified will be referred back to a doctor as needed.

Travel Clinic

Travel advice appointments are run by nurses with special training in overseas health.  Please refer to our Foreign Travel advice section under the heading Health Advice.

Vaccinations

Adult and Child Vaccinations

Children's Vaccinations

We strongly recommend that all children receive their full course of routine vaccinations. Many severe and devastating conditions can be prevented by vaccination.

Your child will be invited to attend for their vaccinations when they are due. If you cannot attend or if the child is ill, please let the receptionist know. If you are concerned about any of the vaccinations, please talk to the practice nurse or health visitor.

Serious side effects are very rare.

Regular sessions are held for all childhood immunisations, Your child may receive an appointment card via the Child Health Bureau in Chichester to attend your doctor's immunisation clinic. The clinics are on the 2nd and 3rd Monday of each month from 2.00pm to 4.30pm

Parents with concerns over the MMR vaccination are advised to visit the NHS Website section on MMR Vaccination designed to give you all the facts about Measles, Mumps and Rubella and vaccination, so you can decide what is best for your child.

 

Adult Vaccinations
