About the Patient Participation Group
We have a dedicated Westcourt patient group, just for Westcourt patients.
We would like to get more people involved in these groups. You do not have to be ill or a regular user of health services. We need people with all sorts of skills to get involved, including those who are prepared to read information, can understand data, are prepared to contribute or are just passionate about improving health services.

What is a Patient Participation Group?
Patient Participation Groups work closely with the Practice, and have an important role in allowing patients to let the Practice know what matters most to the patient population, what is working well and in some cases not so well, and in trying to help resolve any problems.
In effect, the group is a “Critical Friend”, to the Practice, promoting better understanding of what the patients may be thinking or saying about issues, whilst also helping to improve communication with patients by providing a newsletter with information linked to current health issues or how to access new services.
Patient Participation Groups can become involved in such things as Patient Surveys, Fundraising Events, Health Events, contributing to decisions and generally improving communication between patients and practice.
It is not, however, a forum for complaints, which should always be directed appropriately using our complaints procedure.
