Dr Middleton qualified at the University of Orange Free State, South Africa in 1995.
After completion of his house jobs in Bloemfontein, he spent a further four years on specialist and general practice attachments in Sutton Coldfield and Worthing. During this time Dr Middleton achieved a post-graduate qualification in Child Health (Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health). He joined Westcourt Medical Centre in 2001.
In 2006 he started supervising Foundation Year Two doctors attached to the medical centre. He passed the requirements for Membership by assessment of Performance and achieved Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2010. He is now a GP Trainer, supervising the GP Registrars working for Westcourt Medical Centre.
Dr Middleton is the GP lead for Asthma, COPD and Depression at the practice, and is also the Safeguarding Lead, Caldicott Guardian and GMS (General Medical Services) Lead.
