Online Consultation
From 1st October, 2025, as part of NHS England’s 2025/26 GP Contract, general practices in England will be required to keep their online consultation service open during core hours (8:00am to 6:30pm Monday to Friday except Bank Holidays) for patients to submit non-urgent requests.
As a Practice we are constantly striving to enhance our services in order to deliver the best care to all of our patients. As part of this, we are excited to announce our new appointment system which will be Rapid Health Triage, and launching on Wednesday 1st October 2025.
As part of our strategy to manage increasing demand and maintain equal and fair access to care, we will be moving from the now proven manual triage method to a fully automated triage method which has been developed by medical experts and is fully NHS approved. This system is known as Rapid Health Triage for all GP, Paramedic and First Contact Physio appointment requests.
All patients wishing to book an appointment with a GP, Paramedic or First Contact Physio will need to submit an online consultation request, via the practice website. For patients who do not have access to the internet, our reception team will be happy to support the completion of the questionnaire with patients at the surgery or via the telephone.
The request will include brief information about the clinical issue, with photo’s if appropriate, that will allow us to assess the urgency, appropriateness and arrange review by a suitable clinician.
So that we can start the new system with full availability, any appointment requests after 1st October 2025 will need to be requested on or after this date via Rapid Health Triage. We are unable to pre-book any of these appointments. This is so Rapid Health Triage can manage all appointment requests going forward including follow-up appointments.
